Around the world May 17th marks a very special day for those of us who are a part of the queer community. For anyone who has ever experienced prejudice, discrimination, hate speech, bullying, abuse and anything else that ever made you feel less than for your sexuality and who you are, this day around the world stands up for you.
This year, the Canadian campaign of IDAHO (International Day Against Homophobia) has directed its efforts towards online and social media homophobia. We invite you to visit www.homophobiaday.org for more details as well as tweet, post, blog, instagram, pinterest, digg and publicize your support of this international day to help fight the online virus of homophobia in our country and around the world.
Part of our mandate at Third Street Theatre is to give voice and support to those who are less able to speak up. We are proud to stand in solidarity against homophobia, transphobia, biphobia and any other discrimination that comes against our beloved queer community.
